Introducing WFH: a quick way to share status with coworkers

It seems after In/Out (aka Backpack Journal) came out, there have been at least a few clones.

I created an app (actually long before in/out) called WFH (Working From Home), a way to quickly share status with your coworkers. You can pick your status from a dropdown for every day of the coming week, and you can also type a status for the day. It’s minimalistic; no logins, just pick your name from a list, and everyone is an admin and can add statuses.

While 37signals allows you to specify your current status and what you’ve done, I condensed it into one simple box. Here’s a screenshot for a taste, and the app is on github. It was written a long time ago on Hobo and Rails 1.2.6 but the Rails is frozen in and no database to set up as it runs on SQLite3; just rake db:migrate and try it out.

It looks nice. Yours is definitely more polished than mine.

We also seem to have a different focus, where mine is for paring and yours is for people working from home.

@Zach I can’t take credit for any of the polish as that’s basically the default Hobo themes :-) I started this project as a way to explore Hobo so.. :-). I added the twitter-style textbox just recently..it started out essentially as a “where are you this week” app. I guess everyone’s app is slightly differently flavored depending on their work environment :-)
